Counselling and psychotherapy for adults

Psychodynamic Therapy

A reflective space to understand how past and present meet in your emotional life.

The approach

Thinking together

Psychodynamic therapy gives us time and space to think together about what is happening in your life now, while also being curious about how earlier relationships and experiences may have shaped the way you feel, relate to others and respond to difficulties in the present.

Over time, we may become aware of patterns that have developed throughout your life. Understanding these can help us make sense of why certain feelings, relationships or situations may be particularly difficult and can open up the possibility of responding differently.

I see therapy as something we do together: a reflective space where there is time to slow down and pay attention to thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to understand on our own.

Alongside thoughts and feelings, I remain attentive to the ways emotional experience can also be felt in the body. My background and experience as a Craniosacral Therapist have given me a particular sensitivity to the relationship between our psychological and physical experience.

Psychodynamic therapy can offer a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships, creating the possibility of meaningful and lasting change.

The work is collaborative and will unfold at a pace that feels right for you.

Beginning therapy

You do not need to know exactly what to say

I recognise that beginning therapy can feel like a significant step. You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to say or what you hope to change. We can begin with whatever has brought you to therapy and think about it together.

I offer a free initial 30-minute consultation by telephone, online or in person. This gives us an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to therapy, what you may be looking for and whether working together might be helpful for you.

I work with individuals aged 18 and over.
